Nottingham Forest ran out comfortable winners this evening as they defeated Lincoln Red Imps 5-0 in Marbella.
First-half goals from Matty Cash and Jordan Gabriel had given Forest a deserved half-time lead before Aitor Karanka's side turned on the style in the second half.
Virgil Gomis, Joe Lolley and Ryan Yates all found the net to complete the scoring and give Forest a win in their opening pre-season game.
Forest looked comfortable on the ball throughout the contest, dominating possession and gradually building towards match sharpness.
Daryl Murphy could have given The Reds the lead from the penalty spot after Cash was tripped in the area but saw his spot kick crash off the bar on 20 minutes.
But Forest didn't have to wait long to take the lead as Cash hit a thunderous left-footed effort from 25 yards right into the top corner.
It was two just after the half-hour mark as Danny Fox's raking pass was well controlled by Gabriel on his chest. The full back then beat the goalkeeper to the ball to lift an effort over him and into the net via the post.
Murphy headed wide just before the break from a corner by the impressive Diogo Gonçalves, and during the interval Karanka opted to change his entire 11 to give players some much-needed game time.
Gil Dias almost created an opening ten minutes into the second half, skipping past three defenders before teeing up Adlene Guedioura to cross which was deflected over the bar.
On the hour mark it was three for Forest as Gomis picked up the ball after Lolley did well to win it back high up the pitch. The young striker then cut inside before firing low inside the goalkeeper's near post to spark a flurry of goals.
On 64 Lolley hit the net with a rasping low drive after he had exchanged passes with Ben Osborn, before Osborn was again the provider a minute later for Yates.
Osborn delivered a fine cross from the left and Yates arrived into the area to meet it with a diving header which went in off the inside of the post.
