Earning your support

Apologies, this video is unvailable.

Nottingham Forest defender Danny Fox said they need to earn the fans support with a good performance against Preston tonight.

Fox said that The Reds need to put in a good display to give the fans something to cheer about at The City Ground.

He said: "It is down to us to get them on side from the start of the game, it is not all down to the fans. The average attendances have been a lot higher than last season so they are enjoying the games, but we need to be a bit more consistent to make them that 12th man for us.

"It is down to us and hopefully they will be on side for us throughout the game and we can get the result for them and for ourselves as well."

Forest lost to Hull City in the Emirates FA Cup on Saturday and Fox is keen to put that defeat behind them as focus switches to the Sky Bet Championship.

"We need to move on quickly," he said. "It is another tough test for us; Preston are doing well this season and are a team that are hard to play against. We just need to move on quickly, put on a good performance like we did against Wolves and bounce back.

"If we can show some consistency and put some results together then there is no reason why we can't climb the table.

"It can happen and there is plenty of time left. But we need to act now and we need to get back to back league wins, starting against Preston."
