Nottingham Forest Under 23s will look to make it six straight wins on the bounce when they take on Birmingham City Under 23s in the Premier League Cup at the Impact Arena this afternoon (kick-off 1pm).
The Reds, who sit third in the Professional Development League North table, now turn their attentions to the cup, where a win would see them move level on points with Derby County who are currently top of the group after playing one more game.
Manager Gareth Holmes will be keen to build on their impressive 4-2 win over Barnsley on Friday evening thanks to goals from Alex Iacovitti, Lewis Walters and a brace from Virgil Gomis, but they will be without midfielder Aaron Smith after his red card in Friday's league match.
Birmingham City Under 23s, who are currently bottom of the group, drew 2-2 in the league against Leeds United Under 23s on Friday despite having a two-goal lead.
