Lee Tomlin is keen to impress in a Nottingham Forest shirt as he prepares for his home debut against Hull City tomorrow.
The forward signed on loan on deadline day, making his debut off the bench at Fulham last weekend, and he is expecting a tough match against The Tigers.
He said: "It is going to be tough but every game in this league is tough. It doesn't matter if they are top or bottom of the league, there is every chance you could lose the game. It is a battle every single game so we will have to be on our game and hopefully we can get the three points."
Tomlin joined from Cardiff City and he said he has settled in well to the squad, with the chance to work under Aitor Karanka again a big factor in his move.
"It has been good," he said. "The lads have been unbelievable, having a laugh and a joke, but we have been working hard on the training pitch.
"It feels like I have been here for months already. It has been perfect, everyone knows what we have to do and that is win games.
"It is good or me to come closer to home, to play games but also to team up with Aitor again. My family are from Leicester; they aren't too happy with me signing here but that is football! It feels good to get back home, I am excited to get going and hopefully we can win some games for Nottingham Forest.
"When I get the ball, the fans are often excited to see something happen and to see what I can do, things like flicks, tricks and nutmegs. Hopefully I can do those things to get the fans excited and off their seat and hopefully it will be when we are winning games as well."
