Saidy Janko said it was a missed opportunity for Nottingham Forest to move into the top six following their defeat against QPR.
The Reds lost 1-0 at The City Ground yesterday when a win would have seen them climb back into the play-off positions.
Speaking after the game, he said: “It is a big shame because we wanted to get into the top six and a win would have been the best end to a good first half of the season.
“But we have a chance to move on quickly and look forward to the next games, but we can’t lose these kind of games if we want to stay at the top and get into the play-offs.
“All we can do now is look forward, keep going and do better on Wednesday.”
He added: “It is a tough Christmas period but we are still up there and challenging so we will be alright.
“We have only lost four games so we are still doing alright but it is these games that we have to win.”
