Under 23s: Forest 3-4 Crystal Palace

10 August 2018

Nottingham Forest Under 23s kicked-off their Professional Development League campaign with a 4-3 defeat against Crystal Palace on Friday.

Brennan Johnson, Jayden Richardson and Virgil Gomis were all on target for The Reds at Alfreton Town’s Impact Arena but Palace came out on top in a thrilling match.

Forest made a great start and took the lead through Johnson, but the visitors hit back as Jason Lokilo and James Daly put them 2-1 up at the break.

Daly added his second ten minutes after the interval to extend the lead before Richardson reduced the deficit. But the one-goal margin lasted just six minutes as Lokilo added his second.

Gomis’s penalty 15 minutes from time gave Forest hope but they couldn’t find the leveller and began their campaign with a defeat.
