Match preview: Forest vs West Brom

7 August 2018

Nottingham Forest return to The City Ground tonight as their home Sky Bet Championship campaign gets underway against West Brom.

The Reds got their season up and running on Saturday with a point following the 1-1 draw at Bristol City, and Aitor Karanka's men will be keen to build on the positive second-half performance at Ashton Gate for The Baggies' visit.

A packed City Ground crowd set to cheer on The Reds as they look to impose their game on Darren Moore's side and condemn them to back-to-back defeats on their return to the Championship.

Team news

Joe Worrall is not expected to be involved for Forest after he has been suffering with a virus, while Michael Dawson should be available having come off as a precaution late on against Bristol City.

The Forest view

Nottingham Forest manager Aitor Karanka says he is excited to be back in front of the home supporters against West Brom tomorrow night. See what he had to say below.

From the opposition

Captain Chris Brunt is expecting a tough trip to Trentside this evening when West Brom visit The City Ground.

Speaking to West Brom's official website, he said: "I'm sure it will be a tough game.

"They've brought in a lot of new faces.

"It's a difficult place to go. They try to play football in the right way.

"The last few times we've been there have been difficult and this will be no different.

"This league is relentless with games coming thick and fast. Hopefully the fans will travel and get behind us again.

"It up to us to get a result and keep that going."

One to watch - Jay Rodriguez

Last season's top scorer Jay Rodriguez is the biggest goal threat for Darren Moore's side and is expected to lead the line tonight.

The England international hit 11 goals last term and will be the focal point of Albion's attacks at The City Ground.
