Nottingham Forest have announced a 48-hour extension to 2018-19 season card sales due to an unprecedented level of demand seen today – and in recent days.
The decision has been taken to ensure all fans that have registered an interest have their application processed at the discounted price.
The extension follows the news that the club has set a new record for season card sales during an initial phase of availability. The figure for the 2018-19 season has already surpassed the number sold during the 2017-18 discount period that ended on 1st July. It is also more than the number sold by the opening day of the 2017-18 season on 4th August.
A club spokesperson said:
"First and foremost, we are delighted by the response of fans since 2018-19 season cards went on sale. We have already surpassed the number of season card holders we had on the opening day of the 2017-18 season, with close to 100 days still to go until next season kicks off.
"Given the level of demand in recent days the club has no choice other than to extend the deadline by 48 hours.
"With queues in the ticket office and on the phone lines throughout the day, the decision to extend has been taken to ensure that all fans that have been trying to purchase, or have registered an interest in doing so, are able to secure their season card at the discount price. The club can confirm the deadline will not be extended beyond 48 hours."
