Nottingham Forest Under 18s stormed to the top of the Professional Development League Two table after thrashing Colchester United 6-0 on Tuesday afternoon.
Gareth Holmes watched on as his side made it 19 goals in their first four matches of the season as they opened up a two-point gap over Sheffield Wednesday at the summit.
Following the 4-0 win at Bristol City on Saturday, the Under 18s picked up where they left off as goals from Will Swan, Arvin Appiah, Luke McCormick and Connor Smith put them into a four-goal lead at half-time.
Swan added his second of the game and fifth of the season after the interval before Brennan Johnson capped off a magnificent afternoon for The Reds, which was only tempered by McCormick's red card with a minute to play.
The Under 18s are back in action on Saturday (9 September, kick-off 12pm) when they entertain Queens Park Rangers at the Nigel Doughty Academy.
