Preview: Sheffield Wednesday (A)

8 September 2017

Nottingham Forest return to Sky Bet Championship action tomorrow when they travel to Hillsborough to take on Sheffield Wednesday.

The Reds lost out to Leeds United before the international break and Mark Warburton's men will be looking to pick up another three points on the road on Saturday evening.

Wednesday have had an indifferent start to their campaign, picking up six points from their opening fixtures and they will be looking to get their season up and running in front of the Sky Sports cameras.

They will have to do it without star striker Fernando Forestieri though as he has been ruled out for three months with injury, and boss Carlos Carvlhal has also been handed a two-match touchline ban, starting tomorrow.

Team news

David Vaughan will again sit out through injury but is nearing a return, as is goalkeeper Stephen Henderson. Deadline-day recruit Adam Federici picked up an injury on international duty with Australia so he will have to wait for his Reds debut.

Chris Cohen, Jamie Ward and Matty Cash also remain out.

From the opposition

Speaking ahead of the game, Owls boss Carlos Carvalhal told their official website: "We are training very well, very positive, with a good vibe and good energy and we are looking forward to be back at Hillsborough because we miss a lot to play in our stadium.

"All the teams are difficult, we don't have easy games in this competition.

"Nottingham Forest are a team that have changed a lot, brought in a lot of new players, made a good start to the season and it will be a tough game.

"But it will be a very difficult game to them also because we are at home, in a positive and strong environment with our fans and we are looking forward to the game."

Tickets will be on sale until 1pm on Saturday from the ticket office and a limited number will be available on the day from Hillsborough.
