Mark Warburton knows his side have to prepare well for their match with Sunderland on Tuesday night.
The Reds will be looking to bounce back from Saturday's defeat against Sheffield Wednesday when they make the trip to the North East.
"It is a huge club with a very talented squad," Warburton said. "if you look at the names there is no doubt about that but this is a tough league and they will be looking for a result.
"We will be looking for a positive three points. We go there and we know that we face a tough challenge and, I say it week in week out, there are no easy games in this division.
"We will prepare well, travel up today and look forward to what we know will be a tough encounter.
"There is no respect shown in certain areas and you have to prepare well and deliver the performance and if you don't, you pay the price.
"The games are so tight and the margins are fine, but you have to work hard every day and find that extra one per cent as preparation is key."
Warburton confirmed that David Vaughan, Jamie Ward and Matty Cash will all miss out again but have stepped up their recovery from injury, while the club and AFC Bournemouth have agreed to rescind the loan of goalkeeper Adam Federici after he picked up an injury on international duty.
He said: "Adam is having surgery and we have sent him our best wishes over that - but Bournemouth have basically rescinded the loan and taken their player back. That is a magnificent gesture on their part.
"We are very thankful about the way they have acted throughout this entire process and I am sure everyone would wish Adam the best of luck with the surgery and a swift and speedy return."
