Mark Warburton is seeking a level of consistency from his side to push towards the top end of the table ahead of the trip to Hull on Saturday.
The Reds picked up three points last time out against Burton Albion and Warburton is keen to build on that when Forest visit the KCOM Stadium on Saturday evening.
He said: "A win always helps, it is a results driven industry. We have looked at the game, reviewed it and we now move on to Hull City. The games come thick and fast and we have to prepare well for each and every game.
"A team that puts three or four wins together can easily find themselves in the top six. You have to focus on consistency and maintain a quality of performance week in, week out and if you can do that, then you will be moving in the right direction.
"We have shown in the quality of our performance that we can do that but we haven't taken the rewards. Was I pleased with the performance against Burton? No, not really but we emerged from it with the three points and we know there is lots more from us to come."
Hull have also struggled with consistency following their relegation from the Premier League last season, but The Reds boss is preparing for a tough test at the KCOM.
"I'm sure they will be bemoaning their inconsistency," he added. "They will be looking at their squad of very talented individual players and seeking that consistency.
"They are very strong some weeks and weak in the next, but we will be preparing for the best that Hull can offer. It will be a strong challenge, they are at home and they have shown they can score goals. We will have to defend our goal with a passion but also believe in what we do, get on the football and be positive with our decision making."
