Under 23s: Sheffield United 1-2 Forest

27 November 2017

Nottingham Forest Under 23s climbed to second in the Professional Development League with a 2-1 win away to Sheffield United.

Goals by Toby Edser and Lewis Walters secured the victory for The Reds as they continued their impressive form to stretch their unbeaten run to seven matches.

Virgil Gomis had a good early chance for Forest, firing over the bar from Danny Preston's cross, and the Frenchman also saw a header saved on 25.

The Reds were impressive in the first half but it remained goalless, and with 25 minutes remaining Edser put Forest in front as he slotted home from 12 yards out.

Sheffield United were level though 10 minutes later as Tyler Smith finished from close range after Dimitar Evtimov had saved an initial shot.

But The Blades weren't level for long as just a minute later Walters lashed home from a tight angle to give The Reds the three points.
