Nottingham Forest Under 23s put in a dominant performance to make it two wins on the spin with a 2-0 victory over Bristol City on Monday afternoon.
Jack Lester's side sealed the three points through goals by Yassine En-Neyah and Virgil Gomis to follow up last week's 3-1 win against Ipswich Town.
En-Neyah fired The Reds into the lead after nine minutes as his shot from the edge of the box hit the back of the net. City had a couple of chances as the first half went on, but couldn't find the equaliser.
In the second half, the home side did have the ball in the net on 52 but it was ruled out for a foul on Jordan Wright, and Forest hit back to double the advantage on 59 minutes.
Aaron Smith teamed up with Gomis and the latter hit a low shot under the Bristol City goalkeeper to make it 2-0, and the margin of victory could have been greater had Gomis, Toby Edser and Kyle McClean all finished off chances late on.
There was also a positive moment on 70 minutes as full back Jordan Gabriel made his long-awaited return from injury as a substitute having missed around five months of action.
