McParland sees Forest potential

7 March 2017

New Nottingham Forest Director of Football Frank McParland says joining The Reds was an opportunity he couldn’t turn down.

McParland joined Forest on Friday after a spell at Glasgow Rangers and spoke exclusively to Forest Review for the first time since his move to The City Ground.

He said: “It is a really interesting place with massive potential. The people I have met in Nottingham have been really friendly; it is a huge footballing city and the fans are passionate which was evident at the match on Saturday.

“I got a call off Fawaz and I have had a few dealings with him before through my time at Burnley so I had a good relationship with him. It was strange the way it came around and it was out of the blue. I have had a number of conversations with him over the years about a number of different players and when he rang I took it seriously because the club is such a fantastic club.”

Read the full interview with McParland in tonight’s edition of Forest Review as The Reds take on his former club Brentford. The 56-year-old discusses his ambitions for his time on Trentside and working alongside Gary Brazil.

Also in tonight’s edition there are regular columns from Danny Taylor, David Marples and Richard Harrison as well as the thoughts of Fawaz Al Hasawi and manager Gary Brazil.

Get West London’s Brentford reporter Tom Moore shares his views on tonight’s visitors and we revisit a match on this day.
