Mark Warburton has challenged Ben Brereton to push on and develop further after the striker signed a new deal with the club.
Brereton has committed to the club with a new deal until 2021 but the Forest manager says that the hard work starts now for the 18-year-old.
He said: "We are delighted to have him on board and it is great commitment by the new owners to recognise the young talent coming through the club.
"It shows the intent and commitment of the club in securing young talent and Ben did exceptionally well at the end of last season; he was picked because he deserved to be. If you are good enough, you are old enough and he showed his quality and rose to the challenge that was presented to everyone in the team.
"England honours are great for him but now the real hard work starts. He has earned that contract, good luck to him and now he knows he has to fight hard for his place in the squad as there are some very talented players here. It is the next stage of his development to rise to the challenge again and be good enough for the next level."
