Mark Warburton is keen to see a bumper crowd at The City Ground on Friday night as Nottingham Forest kick-off their Sky Bet Championship campaign against Millwall.
Record numbers of season card holders have backed The Reds already ahead of the opening night and there is set to be a big crowd with sales fast approaching the 23,000 mark.
The Forest boss is keen to give them something to cheer in what should be a tough test against newly-promoted Millwall.
He said: “I hope there will be a big crowd. The support they have given us has been outstanding and the number of season card holders is fantastic news for us and they can see the positive strides we are making both on and off the pitch.
“We know it is a tough test at the start of a long season. Millwall will come here, be well organised and physical and they have lots of quality.
“I think we are in good shape and all credit to the players. They have worked so hard throughout pre-season, they have the base of fitness and are showing that in their performances and we are all looking forward to Friday.”
