Manager Mark Warburton says the signing of Tendayi Darikwa enables Nottingham Forest to have good strength in a key position.
The full back joined The Reds for an undisclosed fee and Warburton is looking forward to seeing his contribution at The City Ground.
He said: “We were looking for an attack-minded full back and someone who is comfortable there and a wider role and Tendayi fits that.
“We are delighted to welcome him on board and looking forward to watching his contributions to the club.”
Warburton added that it is great that the Nottingham-born defender has a connection to the club but there was no sentimental value in deciding to make the move.
He added: “There is a genuine connection there and it is great with him coming in in that respect, but he has been with Burnley and shown his quality and he will be a very valuable addition to the playing squad.”
