Nottingham Forest owner and chairman Fawaz Al Hasawi has provided the following update for the club’s supporters.
I would like to start by congratulating Gary Brazil and his staff for the fantastic job they have done since I asked them to take charge of first-team affairs. There is a more positive vibe around the club after our recent results and it is now down to me to make sure we move in the right direction off the field.
Gary and I worked tirelessly throughout the January transfer window in order to acquire the right players who could add to our current squad and help the team push on in the second half of the season. I am very pleased we were successful in landing our targets and I have confidence that those players can go on to be a success. Discussions about new contracts for players at the club have already begun and we hope for a positive outcome.
Away from on-field matters I appreciate many of you are eager to know when key appointments will be made. I completely understand this frustration and am doing my utmost to appoint the right people who have the best long-term interests for this club at heart. There are many factors to consider when appointing these key individuals and it is important that every criteria is met before we make a decision. We cannot rush this decision through. If the right candidate is ready to start tomorrow I will make it happen but until then I have confidence that the current staff at the club are more than capable.
I am delighted to have our Chief Financial Officer Samantha Gordon already in post. Samantha has the knowledge and experience to take this club forward and together we are developing a sustainable and progressive financial structure.
I will continue to update you on our progression and would like to thank you all for your continued and loyal support of the team.
