Nottingham Forest Under 18s claimed a hard-fought point in a 2-2 draw away to Huddersfield Town in the Professional Development League. The result stopped a run of three consecutive defeats for Jake Wigley's side with Will Swan scoring with 20 minutes to play to secure a point.
Yassine En-Neyah put The Reds in front early on, finishing after Terriers' goalkeeper Ryan Schofield saved an initial shot and Virgil Gomis almost doubled the lead after 11 minutes, firing a shot narrowly wide of the post.
Forest were on top and looked threatening going forward, while Huddersfield looked to hit The Reds on the break. Town survived the pressure on their goal and found the equaliser on 40 minutes as Dom Tear headed home from close range.
Arvin Appiah nearly restored the lead just before the break, forcing Schofield into a smart save, and Luca Colville almost gave Huddersfield the lead after the restart with his free kick going the wrong side of the post.
It was a set-piece that did break the stalemate as Huddersfield's George Danaher converted Isaac Marriott's delivery on 59 minutes to put the home side in front, and the margin could have been wider had Colville finished from close range having been put through on goal on 68 minutes.
The Terriers were made to pay for that miss as Swan struck a thunderous effort from 25 yards three minutes later which went into the bottom corner to level the contest.
Gomis nearly found the winner with four minutes left as his effort looped over Schofield but was cleared off the line by Town defender Cameron Taylor, and both sides had to settle for a point.
