Mitre Goal of the Year 2016

27 February 2017

Nottingham Forest supporters have just 24 hours to vote for their favourite goal in 2016 for the club’s submission for the EFL Mitre Goal of the Year award.

A shortlist of seven goals has been drawn up and fans can now vote on which goal they think was the best in 2016 to enter it into the competition.

View the goals scored throughout the calendar year in the video above and decide which you think was best, be it Gary Gardner’s screamer against Hull City back in March or Apostolos Vellios’s overhead kick against Rotherham United in September.
Forest fans have until Tuesday 28 February to cast their vote. The winning goal will then be entered in the Mitre Goal of the Year category at the EFL Awards on Sunday 9 April at The Hilton Hotel on Park Lane, London.
A judging panel will then review the goals with a selection being shown on Channel 5’s Football on Five Goal Rush. Fans will be given the opportunity to vote for goals to make the final shortlist of five, with the overall winner being decided at the glittering Awards ceremony.
