We came back from 3-1 down to claim a draw against Sheffield Wednesday in the Sky Bet Championship in the 2013-14 season. Chris Maguire put Wednesday in front from the penalty spot and Jamie Mackie levelled just before half-time with a powerful header. Lewis Buxton restored the lead moments later though, converting Maguire’s corner. Joe Mattock gave The Owls a two-goal lead on 57 through his strike from the edge of the box. Marcus Tudgay reduced the arrears before Danny Collins was sent off for a second yellow card. Jamie Paterson struck the equaliser with a superb free kick on 87 to earn us a point under Gary Brazil’s caretaker charge.

Blackstock opened the scoring on 24 minutes from the penalty spot after Darren Purse was adjudged to have handled in the area. David Johnson fired The Reds into the lead after three minutes from Marlon Harewood's pass, and Johnson went from goalscorer to provider as he teed up Jack Lester to double the lead. Riccy Scimeca then hit two goals in four minutes - both set up by Harewood - to seal the victory in the First Division.

Saturday 1 May 1999
Nottingham Forest 2 (Porfirio 14', Rogers 16') Sheffield Wednesday 0

A 2-0 win over Sheffield Wednesday was too late to stop The Reds from being relegated from the Premiership, but it started a run of three successive league victories to end the season and this fixture was the last time the two sides met in the top flight. Hugo Porfirio scored his only goal for the club after 14 minutes to put Forest in front and that lead was doubled two minutes later by Alan Rogers.

Saturday 10 September 1994
Nottingham Forest 4 (Black 34’, Bohinen 52’, Pearce pen 63’, Roy 82’) Sheffield Wednesday 1 (Hyde 56')

Nottingham Forest jumped up to third in the Premiership with the 4-1 defeat of Sheffield Wednesday at The City Ground in the 1994-95 season. Kingsley Black steered home Steve Stone’s shot from the edge of the box to give The Reds the lead and Lars Bohinen doubled the scoreline with a stunning half-volley. Graham Hyde pulled one back for Wednesday a few minutes later but a Stuart Pearce penalty after Simon Coleman handled restored the two-goal lead. Brian Roy rounded off the scoring in the 82nd minute with a well-taken finish past Kevin Pressman.

Saturday 17 October 1987
Nottingham Forest 3 (Clough, Carr, Wilkinson) Sheffield Wednesday 0

Nottingham Forest maintained the pressure on the teams at the top of Division One with a comfortable 3-0 win over Sheffield Wednesday. Nigel Clough's acrobatic strike put The Reds into the lead in the first half, before Franz Carr struck a second after the break. Stuart Pearce thundered an effort off the post before his long-range strike was parried by goalkeeper Martin Hodge into the path of Paul Wilkinson who tapped home.
