Nottingham Forest midfielder Ben Osborn says now is the time for The Reds to start grinding out results as they head to Preston.
Osborn is determined to start the festive period with a result at Deepdale on Saturday and take the positives from the second half performance against Bristol City last week.
He said: "Preston are on good form and we are coming off the back of not a great result at Bristol City. We were happy with our performance in the second half but the first half wasn't good enough. We need to put it together for 90 minutes, get in their faces and hopefully play some good stuff like we know we can do to get a good result.
"We have been doing a lot of analysis on them. They are dangerous and a very hard-working team so we have to match that and hope our quality can shine through.
"We have been saying in recent weeks that we are better than the opposition but we haven't been getting the results. It is time for us to dig in and do anything to get the result."
With the fixtures coming thick and fast over Christmas and New Year, Osborn believes that now is the time to start building a run together if The Reds are to mount a challenge for the top six.
"I personally am buzzing for it," he said. "We need to get a run together to close that gap on the top six. We want to be in and around there and we don't want just another mediocre season. We need to put a run of games together with some big games coming up.
"If we can get a run together then that builds some momentum and it will stand us in good stead for January.
"Training has been upped in the last week. We are starting to show our frustration on the training pitch at where we are in the league; no one is happy and we are all fighting for places in every position.
"We need to come together and now is the time to start putting a run together."
