Mustapha Carayol is confident of getting a result when Nottingham Forest take on his former side Middlesbrough at The City Ground.
The winger spent four years on Teesside but he fancies The Reds’ chances against Garry Monk’s side.
He said: “They have a good squad and they will pose us some problems, as they will every other team. But we have a team that can hurt them and against the big teams last season we were really good at home so I quite fancy us.
“We played really well on Tuesday but it was just one of those games. We just have to dust ourselves off, take the positives from it and move on to Saturday and hope some of those chances go in.”
Carayol is looking forward to seeing some familiar faces tomorrow but all friendships will disappear come kick-off.
He said: “I enjoyed my time there, I probably played my best football there until I got a really bad injury. I loved it there and I will always be thankful to them as they gave me a chance at this level.
“I’m looking forward to seeing a few friends but more than anything it is another league game where we will try to get three points.”
