Matt Mills was left disappointed with the defeat against Leeds but said that there is still plenty to play for in a long season.
The Forest defender is determined to put the performance behind him as The Reds look to regroup during the international break.
He said: "It wasn't us. We were disappointed with our energy. We dominated the ball like we do but we didn't threaten enough going forward.
"From their point of view it was a perfect away performance. They regained their shape quickly and they were hard to break down but we didn't have the ideas and we weren't as good or as dynamic as we were against Middlesbrough.
"It just wasn't quite there but that happens. We have a break now and we regroup and go again. We have nine points on the board so it is not a crisis by any stretch of the imagination but it is disappointing. We have a group of players and staff that expect high standards and we thought it was a game we could have taken three points from.
"We have got to work hard, go again and the focus over the next couple of weeks has got to be on the next game. That is all we can affect.
"There are 41 games left, that is a long way to go and we need to stay concentrated and focused and keep driving each other on to get where we want to get to."
