Under 18s: Forest 6-1 QPR

1 April 2017

Nottingham Forest Under 18s kept their slim play-off hopes alive with a thumping 6-1 victory over Queens Park Rangers at the Nigel Doughty Academy on Saturday.

The Reds were dominant in the first half and, despite having to make an early change with Keith Asare replacing Brennan Johnson, they took a three-goal lead at half-time with a brace from Arvin Appiah following a strike from Ethan Dekel.

Two goals in two second-half minutes then sealed the points for Forest as Alex Mighten and Jake Taylor got their names on the scoresheet before QPR found a consolation goal on 60 minutes.

With eight minutes to play, Taylor got his second goal of the game to secure a comfortable win for The Reds and keep them in the play-off hunt ahead of their final league match of the regular season away at Cardiff City next Saturday (8 April, kick-off 12pm).

Forest: Shelvey, Richardson (Ram 66'), Bondswell, Taylor, Stewart, Gabriel, Harbottle, Johnson (Asare 8' (Barnes 75')), Appiah, Dekel, Mighten
