Nottingham Forest striker Britt Assombalonga has signed a new five-year contract with the club.
Assombalonga arrived at The City Ground from Peterborough in 2014 and scored 15 times in his first season before suffering a serious knee injury against Wigan in February 2015.After over a year on the sidelines, the popular figure made an emotional return as a substitute in a 1-1 draw against Blackburn at The City Ground and then went on to score the winner at MK Dons in the final match of the 2015-16 season.
The fans' favourite scored twice in Forest’s 4-3 win over Burton Albion on the opening day of the current campaign and added a further goal to his tally a fortnight later against Wigan Athletic.
Assombalonga's new deal will see him contracted to the club until 2021.
