Nottingham Forest Under 18s' winning run was ended as they slipped to a 2-1 defeat at league leaders Sheffield United this afternoon.
Gareth Holmes's side travelled to South Yorkshire with hopes of achieving a fifth consecutive victory and performed well in what turned out to be a goalless first half.
Shortly after the break the hosts went in front when Jordan Wright got down smartly to push away a shot from outside the area but The Blades' Jordan Hallam was on hand to slot the rebound home from a tight angle.
To their credit Forest responded well and deservedly levelled when Virgil Gomis latched on to a ball over the top of the United back four and finished smartly beyond Hugo Warhust in the home goal.
The league leaders would go on to take all three points through Hallam's second goal of the game as the midfielder darted into the Forest penalty area and smashed the ball past Wright at his near post.
Forest now have a two-week break before their next game which sees them entertain Huddersfield Town at the Nigel Doughty Academy on Saturday 26 November (kick-off 11.30am).
