New signing Apostolos Vellios says he already feels at home at Nottingham Forest.
The 24-year-old forward signed for The Reds today from Greek club Iraklis Thessaloniki. And Vellios, who has experience of playing and living in England following a spell at Everton earlier in his career, says he already feels settled in Nottingham.
He told Forest Player HD: “I feel good to be back here and the players and staff have made me feel nice – it already feels like home.
“I was here when I was 18 for around three-and-a-half years. They were nice years, I learned a lot, and now I’m more experienced.
“I think English football is one of the best in the world. It’s very tough, there are many goals and it’s box-to-box. I also know the Championship is one of the hardest leagues in the world.
“Nottingham Forest is a big name in Europe and also in my country. They truly wanted me and I wanted to come to England, so for me it was a great choice.”
Vellios’ arrival comes two days after Philippe Montanier’s and the Greek is looking forward to working under a continental head coach.
He said: “The gaffer we have signed is from Europe and he’s trying to teach us a little bit more with the ball – technical things.
“The coach wants discipline in the team and I think we have a bright future together.”
