29 July 2016

Philippe Montanier’s latest press conference is available for all supporters to watch in full.

The Frenchman answered questions on a variety of subjects and fans can watch him in action on the club’s YouTube channel.

Montanier will tomorrow take charge of his first-ever match at The City Ground when Premier League side Hull visit for a pre-season friendly – Forest’s last of the summer.

In brief

PM on Andy Reid’s retirement: "We're disappointed but we wish him all the best for the future. He was a great player for Forest."

PM on new signing: “Armand Traore has very good offensive and defensive qualities. I think he has the potential to be an excellent player for Forest."

PM on pre-season so far: "Our performances have been good but we must continue to work on our fitness. We have a week more to do that. Week after week we are progressing. Results in pre-season are not too important but I feel we are getting much stronger."

PM on fans’ hopes for the season: "I understand last season was a difficult one for Forest but we aim to make this a much better one for the supporters. The messages of support from the fans make me very happy and pleased to be here. Now I'd like to reward them with results.”

PM on incomings: “I still feel we need one or two more players to provide competition in different areas. But we will continue to take our time."

PM on outgoings: "I don't expect any players to leave the club at this moment. We don't have a huge squad and we need every player right now."

PM on Euro 2016 returners: "Jamie Ward and David Vaughan are not quite ready to play yet but they're getting up to speed quickly. They're nearly there."
