Lam and Vellios in action at Spurs

9 July 2016

New Nottingham Forest signings Thomas Lam and Apostolos Vellios played in a behind-closed-doors friendly at Tottenham Hotspur this afternoon.

Lam, who signed this week from Dutch side PEC Zwolle, and former Iraklis and Everton striker Vellios played the first 45 minutes of the match at Spurs' training ground.

Forest head coach Philippe Montanier fielded 23 different players over the course of the match, including a number of youngsters, while Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino handed gametime to the likes of Victor Wanyama, Ryan Mason, Nacer Chadli, Nabil Bentaleb and Michel Vorm.

The hosts ran out 3-0 winners, with early goals from Heung-Min Son and Tom Carroll rewarding their strong start.

Forest applied plenty of pressure in the second half, Britt Assombalonga seeing a goal ruled out for offside, but Spurs rounded the match off with a late goal from Alex Pritchard.

The Reds travel to Portugal for a training camp tomorrow, with a friendly against SC Braga scheduled for next weekend. Click here for a full list of pre-season fixtures.
