Nottingham Forest head coach Philippe Montanier declared himself ‘satisfied’ with his team’s 3-0 win over Braga this evening.
Montanier witnessed goals from Henri Lansbury, Alex Iacovitti and Oliver Burke, along with a solid defensive display against one of the best sides in Portugal.
And the Frenchman was pleased with what he saw at Estadio da Nora.
He told Forest Player HD: “I am satisfied, not only because of the victory but the attitude of the players for the whole match.
“We had a good control of the game. Defensively we played well and we scored three goals.
“I was afraid at the beginning because we worked very hard yesterday with two physical sessions, but the players worked very well today.
“It’s only a friendly match but you progress step by step. At the moment the progression is correct.
“We have a hard week next week with two more friendly games and we will have two days free to recover for that.”
Michael Mancienne, Tyler Walker and Dexter Blackstock were not involved in this evening’s friendly but Montanier confirmed their injuries were not serious.
And the head coach, who has now been in the job for just over a fortnight, has been pleased with the spirit within the camp.
Montanier said: “I am enjoying it very much because I have now spent time with the players and staff. It’s better for me to know everybody.
“We have a good atmosphere here – although I was convinced of that before.”
