The John Pye Garibaldi Golden Goal Gamble is making a return to The City Ground – but with a new twist.
To celebrate the club’s 150th anniversary, the half-time game has been renamed the Garibaldi Grassroots Golden Goal gamble and will offer Nottinghamshire football volunteers the chance to win prizes which will directly benefit local children’s football.
The club are inviting applications from representatives of under 6s – under 16s teams from Nottinghamshire - managers, secretaries or even proud parents. Those chosen to take part will receive an allocation of complimentary tickets for a first-team match, the opportunity for their team to form a guard of honour for the players as they take to the field and the chance to pose for pitchside photos with Sherwood the Bear.
Participants will be tasked with scoring into an open goal from four markers of increasing distance. Each time they can either ‘cash out’, or move to the next marker
They will be playing to win the following prizes for their team:
18 yards: Football training pack
25 yards: Ten Forest footballs
40 yards: 18 John Pye-sponsored training tops
55 yards: John Pye-sponsored football kits (15 x socks, shorts and shirts)
to fill out an application form. Applications will be submitted to Nottingham Forest for consideration. Participants are chosen two - three weeks in advance on a game-by-game basis and entry is open until 31 March 2016.
