Tyler Walker was on the scoresheet as Nottingham Forest’s Under 21s beat Birmingham 3-1 at The City Ground yesterday.
The striker doubled the lead shortly after half-time following an excellent 21st-minute opener from Deimantas Petravicius.
The Blues pulled a goal back through Kyle McFarlane but Forest’s James Thorne wrapped the game up with an excellent free-kick.
Under 21s assistant coach Jake Wigley said: “We scored three excellent goals – three of the best we’ve scored this season - and were a lot more patient and composed in possession, which we worked on in the week. That was our game plan.
“It was a good game. At the beginning of the second half we lost our way a little bit. They came at us with a bit more pressure and scored a goal to make it 2-1.
“But James Thorne put a free-kick in the top corner and we controlled the game from that point onwards.”
