Three deserved points

6 February 2016

Nottingham Forest forward Nelson Oliveira says a strong performance from front to back earned The Reds a deserved win at Leeds.

Oliveira scored the winner with a second-half header to cap an excellent team display.

And the forward was delighted Forest got their just rewards at Elland Road.

He said: “We did a great job defensively and offensively so I think we deserved the three points.

“I think we had the better chances in the game. We hit the bar in the first half, we had two or three more chances to score but didn’t.

“In the second half it was important to score the first goal because it was a game where the team that scored first would maybe win the game.

“Thankfully it was us, and we won.”

Forest haven’t tasted defeat for 13 Sky Bet Championship matches – a record Oliveira is proud of and one he believes could be a springboard for an exciting end to the season.

He said: “We continued the unbeaten run and now we have a home game. If we win – and I think we can win – we can start thinking about the play-offs.

“In the last 15 games we have looked stronger both away and at home.”
