A Virgil Gomis brace helped Nottingham Forest Under 18s secure a 3-2 win over Birmingham City at the Nigel Doughty Academy this morning.

A Virgil Gomis brace helped Nottingham Forest Under 18s secure a 3-2 win over Birmingham City at the Nigel Doughty Academy this morning.

Gomis gave The Reds the lead after 32 minutes, but Birmingham hit back to equalise right on the stroke of half time. Forest would go into the break in front though as Gomis added his second of the game from the penalty spot in injury time.

The Reds extended the lead as the second half came to a close, with Luke McCormick striking on 78 minutes. 

Birmingham pulled a goal back two minutes later, but Forest held on to clinch an important win to keep on the toes of the sides at the top of the Professional Development League.
