Dorus gets the nod

17 October 2015

Dorus de Vries has been voted as The Reds’ man of the match from their game at Bristol City on Friday night.

The Dutch stopper, who earned 67% of the fans' vote, produced several outstanding saves in the second half to deny striking duo Aaron Wilbraham and Jonathan Kodjia as Forest looked for a way back into the game.

Speaking after the game to Forest Player HD about the saves de Vries said: "That’s part of being a goalkeeper sometimes. You’re just trying to keep your team in the game by not losing focus and staying sharp.

“Fortunately I could help my team in certain moments, but unfortunately we didn’t get a goal back to change the game."

The Reds lost 2-0 at Ashton Gate courtesy of two goals in 11 minutes from Aaron Wilbraham.

Below are the results of the voting:

Dorus de Vries 67%
Daniel Pinillos 14%
Danny Fox 4%
Henri Lansbury 3%
David Vaughan 3%
Ryan Mendes 3%
