Nottingham Forest manager Dougie Freedman says his side must try and capitalise on any ‘hangover’ that Sheffield Wednesday may have following their League Cup exploits.
The Reds face an Owls side high on confidence after their midweek cup victory over Arsenal and the manager is looking forward to an entertaining encounter at Hillsborough tomorrow (kick-off 3pm).
Speaking to Forest Player HD, he said: “It’s another very tough test because Sheffield Wednesday are a very organised side. They play quite direct up to the big striker Lucas Joao so we need to make sure we are prepared for that.
“We will want to take advantage of any hangover that they are suffering from their game in the week against Arsenal.
“We feel like our away performances have generally been very good this season so I’m sure it will be an entertaining game.
“I wouldn’t say that Sheffield Wednesday are playing any better than us but they have managed to turn around their results and that is something we are also looking to do.”
Matt Mills is once again available for selection after returning from a three-match suspension but Freedman says that won’t automatically assure him of a place in the starting line-up.
He said: “It will be good for Matt to come back in but, having said that, Jack Hobbs and Kelvin Wilson have been playing fantastically well.
“We’ve got three games this week so all three of them know that they will play a part at some point. But we’re very pleased to be able to welcome Matt back into the squad for tomorrow’s game.”
