Match sponsors: Reading (H)

28 November 2015

Introducing the match sponsors for Nottingham Forest's Sky Bet Championship match against Reading at The City Ground.

Big Match Sponsor – McCoy’s

The Big Match Sponsor for Nottingham Forest v Reading is McCoy’s, who are treating competition winner Paul Richardson today.

Paul is the lucky winner of the McCoy’s competition “Win Your Club”, which ran in partnership with The Football League. This competition provided Paul with a once in a lifetime opportunity to look behind the scenes at the club he loves.

Paul’s prize began with a non-match day experience. Firstly he was taken on a tour of The Nigel Doughty Academy, where he saw the training facilities and watched the first team put through their paces. After training he met the whole squad and stopped for a lengthy chat with Dougie Freedman. Paul then travelled to The City Ground to have an exclusive behind the scenes tour of the stadium. The tour included a visit to the boardroom, a view of the International Honours Board and a seat in the dug-outs. But it didn’t just stop there, he then headed up to the offices to see the club being run off the pitch.

Today Paul is receiving the final part of his prize where he is attending the game as the Big Match Sponsor. Paul will have exclusive use of the Sponsors’ Lounge, enjoy premium hospitality and watch the game from the best seats in the house. To make his day that little bit more memorable, Paul will also select and meet the official ‘Man of the Match’.

Match Ball Sponsor – In Memory of Brian Shelton (1941-2005)

The Shelton family are sponsoring today’s game in memory of the much loved Brian Shelton (1941-2005).

Born in Liverpool and moving to Nottingham at the age of 6, Brian originally supported Notts County but his allegiance changed to The Reds and he never looked back, taking residence in the Main Stand for over 25 years. He was also present for both wins in Europe and, on home shores, cup games at Wembley as well as the fateful game at Hillsborough. When illness meant Brian couldn't attend matches, he still didn't miss out as he received VHS video copies of games each week from the club courtesy of manager Paul Hart. The family still have old season tickets going back to 1977 along with a large collection of programmes and other club memorabilia.

Remembering Brian at the City Ground today are Son Rob, Grandson Sam (both season ticket holders), Widow Ruth, Daughter Katie and her Partner David, Nephew Jamie and Rob's Wife Nik.
