Match pack: Brentford (A)

19 November 2015

Get all the news ahead of Nottingham Forest's Sky Bet Championship trip to Brentford on Saturday (kick-off 3pm).

Pre-match brief

Nottingham Forest will hope this weekend's trip to Brentford allows them to pick up where they left off before the international break following the memorable East Midlands derby victory at The City Ground last time out.

Confidence took a real boost with the win over Derby two weeks ago but Forest will be presented with a tough assignment at Griffin Park against a Brentford side enjoying a renaissance under the management of Lee Carsley.

Dougie Freedman's men could move to within a point of the Londoners with victory on Saturday and The Reds will be backed by a sold-out away allocation of over 1,600 at Griffin Park as they go in search of back-to-back wins.

Last time out

Nelson Oliveira's fifth-minute strike gave The Reds all three points in the East Midlands derby before the international break as in-form Derby County were beaten by an impressive Forest display at The City Ground.

Forest: De Vries, Lichaj, Mills, Hobbs, Pinillos, Mendes, Lansbury (c), Williams (Trotter 70'), Vaughan, Ward (Osborn 60'), Oliveira (Blackstock 89')

A goal from Lasse Vibe opened the scoring for Brentford in their previous game at Blackburn Rovers but the home side hit back to earn a share of the spoils through Tom Lawrence's leveller.

The Bees have been on a good recent run of form which has seen them lose just one of their last six matches and they have taken up a comfortable mid-table position ahead of Saturday's meeting with Forest.

Brentford: Button, Yennaris, Dean, Tarkowski, Bidwell, Diagouraga, McCormack, Woods (Canós 89'), Vibe, Swift (Saunders 72'), Djuricin (Kerschbaumer 23')

Previous encounters

Nottingham Forest and Brentford shared the points in an entertaining 2-2 draw in their last meeting at Griffin Park in April as goals from Tyler Walker and Todd Kane were cancelled out by strikes from Andre Gray and Jota for the hosts.

Fancy a flutter?

Nottingham Forest are the 21/10 outsiders to take all three points away from Brentford on Saturday with the draw priced at 12/5 and a win for the home side as the current favourite at 5/4.

Nelson Oliveira has come in for plenty of praise following his winner against Derby County and the Portugal striker can be backed at 7/1 to once again be the first goalscorer at Griffin Park this weekend.

The two sides shared a 2-2 draw in the corresponding fixture last season and there are odds of 12/1 on a repeat this time around or 10/1 on Forest to take a 2-1 win away from the capital.
