Ben Brereton took his tally of goals to 16 for the season with a brace in Nottingham Forest's Under 18s' 5-0 win over Barnsley on Saturday.
The Reds maintained their lead at the top of the Professional Development League Two North table with a seventh win in eight games after netting five second-half goals to stun the Tykes in South Yorkshire.
Ryan Yates gave Jack Lester's men the lead when a scramble inside the area ensued, and the youngster was on hand to pounce on the ball and convert from close range. Brereton's well-taken finish doubled the advantage before an own goal made it three after the hosts had failed to clear the danger.
With Barnsley's confidence on the ropes, Brereton bagged another from a corner which he managed to calmly finish, and Yates then completed the rout with a superb run and strike from outside the 18-yard-box for his second of the contest.
Lester's side have a two-week break before hosting Bolton Wanderers at The Nigel Doughty Academy on Saturday 28 November (kick-off 12pm).
