Nottingham Forest's Under 21s ran out 3-0 winners at Brentford on Saturday as Jimmy Gilligan's men made it 13 league matches without defeat.
First-half goals from Oliver Burke, Jorge Grant and Jack Blake gave Forest an impressive win at Griffin Park as they increased their chances of reaching the Professional Development League Two North play-offs.
On the back of their 3-0 victory over Bristol City last week, The Reds started brightly once again and were ahead inside six minutes as Burke raced past the home side's back four before slotting the ball past Mark Smith.
The home side looked dangerous as they sought a route back into the contest but Josh Laurent and Courtney Senior were off-target before Bradley Clayton smashed the ball into the side-netting from close range.
Clinical finishing has been a feature of Forest's impressive play in recent weeks and it was a quick-fire double towards the end of the first half which settled the match.
Grant struck first after latching on to a poor pass from Smith before confidently rounding the goalkeeper and slotting the ball into the unguarded net to put The Reds firmly in charge of the contest.
And it was the direct running of Burke that led to Forest's third goal. He was tripped inside the area by Senior and Blake stepped up to beat the goalkeeper from 12 yards.
Forest still had to concentrate and at the beginning of the second half Dimitar Evtimov was alert to get out at the feet of Jermaine Udumaga, preventing Brentford from pulling a goal back.
Roger Riera had a couple of late chances to extend the winning margin but headed the ball wide on both occasions as Forest went on to see out a fairly comfortable 3-0 victory at Griffin Park.
Gilligan takes his side to Crewe Alexandra tomorrow (Tuesday) as they look to make it four wins on the bounce (kick-off 1pm).
