Marked men

Michael Mancienne believes ‘everyone wants to beat’ Nottingham Forest at the moment.

The Reds travel to face Leeds at Elland Road on Saturday, where they will be looking for their seventh win in nine matches under Dougie Freedman.

And Mancienne believes Forest’s fantastic form makes them a more attractive scalp for opponents.

He told Forest Player: “Leeds are going to work hard. They’ll want to put us under pressure, especially when we’re on a bit of a run – everyone wants to beat you.

“I’m expecting it to be a difficult game but if we keep doing what we’ve been doing in the last few games, I think we’ll be alright.”

Mancienne has enjoyed a successful first season at The City Ground since arriving from Hamburg in the summer.

And he is already looking forward to spending his long-term future on Trentside.

He said: “I think it’s gone well. I’m really happy to be here. Mid-season I had a bit of an injury and I’ve recently come back from that, but I’ve really enjoyed my time and I’m looking forward to spending longer here.

“Forest are a top club. The facilities and everything are of Premier League quality. Compared to every other club I’ve been at, the professionalism of the people that work here is top class.”
