Nottingham Forest supporters have until 12pm tomorrow (Wednesday) to vote for their Bed Chambers Player of the Month for March.
The month handed Forest a mixed bag of results as they recorded two wins, two defeats and a draw from their five matches but there were a number of excellent performances amongst them.
As the focal point of Dougie Freedman’s attack, Blackstock repaid the faith shown by his manager by scoring the winning goal in the 2-1 victory over promotion-chasing Middlesbrough at The City Ground. The striker then followed that up by netting the opener in the win over Rotherham United as he produced a deft chip over the visitors’ goalkeeper and also proved his importance to the side as a target man.
An ever-dependable part of the Forest back four, Lichaj continued to produce consistent performances and was vital in helping to keep clean sheets against Leeds and Rotherham as well as holding Middlesbrough at bay in the 2-1 win on Trentside. The American has established himself as a favourite among the Forest supporters thanks to his whole-hearted and committed displays.
Gardner’s stunning strike to level up matters against Middlesbrough at The City Ground was arguably one of Forest’s goals of the season and only added to his rising stock among the Reds' supporters. The on-loan Aston Villa man has marshalled a three-man Forest central midfield alongside Ben Osborn and Henri Lansbury and has helped to provide both defensive protection and an attacking threat for The Reds.
The flying Forest winger scored his 12th and 13th goals of the campaign in March but that statistic will only tell half of the story. His wonderful run and finish pulled The Reds level at Charlton early in the month but he arguably went one better against Rotherham United as he went on a barnstorming run before finishing low into the bottom corner. Antonio has once again been a menace to Championship defences and has enjoyed another positive month.
Occupying the opposition wing to Antonio, Burke gains plenty of support from the Forest faithful with his hard-working performances and strong runs down the right-hand channel. The Scot has played his part within an impressive midfield five for Dougie Freedman and scored the consolation goal in the 3-1 defeat to Norwich at Carrow Road for his sixth strike of the season.
