Lansbury up for Player of the Month award

5 March 2015

Nottingham Forest midfielder Henri Lansbury has received a nomination for the Sky Bet Championship Player of the Month award for February.

The 24-year-old enjoyed a stellar month in the Forest engine room, scoring five goals in six matches including a curling finish against Wigan and a stunning free-kick to give The Reds victory over Bournemouth at The City Ground.

Lansbury’s excellent form also saw him handed the captain’s armband by manager Dougie Freedman in the absence of the injured Jack Hobbs and he responded in the best possible fashion by leading Forest to three straight wins at the end of the month.

Lansbury will be up against Derby’s Tom Ince, Watford’s Odion Ighalo and Leeds’ Marco Silvestri for the award, the winner of which will be announced tomorrow (Friday 6 March).
