Nottingham Forest’s Chuba Akpom and David Vaughan came off the bench to represent their countries this weekend.Ben Osborn, who made his England Under 20s debut last week, was rested for the latest round of fixtures.
David Vaughan – Israel v WALES, European Championships qualifier
Vaughan was called into action shortly after the interval in a 3-0 victory which left Wales top of Group B.
Manager Chris Coleman labelled the game as one of the most important in Wales’ recent history and Vaughan played a significant role after replacing first-half goalscorer Joe Ledley.
Gareth Bale added two more in the second half as Wales boosted their qualification hopes with a convincing win in Haifa.
Chuba Akpom – ENGLAND UNDER 20s v United States, Friendly
Akpom played the final 11 minutes of the Young Lions’ 2-1 win over USA at Plymouth’s Home Park.
Manager Aidy Boothroyd opted to rotate his squad, making ten changes to the side that beat Mexico in midweek, and the game was wrapped up before Akpom entered the fray in place of Leeds’ Alex Mowatt.
