Nottingham Forest were saddened to learn of the passing of the club’s former manager Dave Mackay.
Mackay spent a year as manager at The City Ground between 1972-73 following a successful playing career in which he made over 300 appearances for Tottenham Hotspur.Club ambassador John McGovern said: “He was an inspirational character, an inspirational person, and the football world will be sad to hear that he has passed away.
“Respect is the one thing that I think Dave Mackay received from everybody; both from the players he played with and opponents he played against.”
John will be paying a full tribute to Dave in Saturday’s official matchday programme.
