Blades blunted again

9 March 2015

Nottingham Forest’s Under 21s cemented their top-of-the-table position with a 2-0 win at Sheffield United this afternoon.

Only a week after Jimmy Gilligan’s men beat the Blades by the same scoreline at the Nigel Doughty Academy, goals from Ilias Polimos and Jack Kelly handed Forest the three points in South Yorkshire.

Both goals came in the second half, Polimos nodding the ball home from a corner before Kelly brought a sense of déjà vu to proceedings.

In last week’s encounter the full back scored direct from a corner, and it was a similar story this time around as his left-footed inswinging free-kick from a wide position saw the ball evade everyone on its way into the net.

Forest: Evtimov; Polimos, Worrall, Riera, Kelly; Grant, Blake, Rees, McLaughlin, Cash (Thorne 72'); Walker (Otim 88')
