Nottingham Forest midfielder Ben Osborn has described his debut for England Under 20s as ‘a great experience’.Osborn played the first 69 minutes of Wednesday’s friendly against Mexico, which England won 4-2 on penalties.
The 20-year-old said: “To start the game was unbelievable and it was a great experience. They are a very technical team and I think we did well to draw, then to win on penalties.
“It was a different style of football and I played with some really good players that are dotted around the Football League.”
The Reds’ new loan signing Chuba Akpom scored the equaliser for Aidy Boothroyd’s side after Mexico had taken the lead early in the second half.
And Osborn is excited at the prospect of welcoming Akpom into the Forest fold.
He said: “After playing with him in the Under 20s I can’t wait to play with him at club level.
“Forest fans should be excited as I think he’s got all the attributes to take this league by storm.”
