Ahead of tomorrow’s fixture release, nottinghamforest.co.uk goes back to the start of the 1995-96 season and a thrilling opening day game between The Reds and Southampton.
Forest opened their Premiership campaign at The Dell and raced into a 3-1 lead at the break as goals from Colin Cooper, Ian Woan and Bryan Roy gave them a commanding lead despite Matt Le Tissier’s penalty for the Saints.
Le Tissier completed his hat-trick in the second half but it wasn’t enough as another effort from Roy handed Forest a memorable 4-3 opening day win on the south coast.
The fixtures for the 2015-16 Sky Bet Championship campaign are released at 9am tomorrow (Wednesday) morning and nottinghamforest.co.uk will have the full list of The Reds’ fixtures as soon as they come out.
On the opening day of the 2014-15 campaign, Forest were 2-0 winners over Blackpool
